Upgrade Instructions

Update Notes:

If you are currently using Blenderfordental with Blender 3.6 LTS, please complete all outstanding dental work before upgrading to Blender 4.5 LTS.
Your existing 3.6LTS .blend files are not be compatible with Blender 4.5 LTS due to changes in Blender’s API.
Upgrading requires installing the new User Interface version 1.1.92 or higher, designed for Blender 4.5 LTS and the latest B4D modules.
It is possible to run Blender 3.6 LTS using UI v.1.1.72 on one computer while running Blender 4.5 LTS on another. However, unfinished work created in one version will not work in the other.

⚠️ Important: Since the release of Blenderfordental with Blender 4.5 LTS, all future updates and support will only be available for this new version.

Installation Instructions

(UI v1.1.76)

Close the current UI
- macOS: Right-click the app icon in the Dock and choose Quit (don’t just close the window).
Install the new UI
- Run the User Interface installer (from the provided link on right side), or go to https://www.blenderfordental.com/how-to-install-b4d.
Launch & verify
- Open the UI and confirm the version shows the correct version.
Prepare module updates
- You should see Update buttons on your existing modules.
Install Model Designer first
- Click Update Module on Model Designer and complete the install.
Install Blender 4.5 LTS
- When prompted, install Blender. A toggle will appear on the left side of the UI.
- Run the Blender installer for 4.5 LTS, then Refresh the UI.
Auto-install remaining modules
- Click Auto-Install to install all other modules.
Language & launch
- Select your language, then click Start B4D to launch Blender.
Inside Blender
- Confirm B4D menus are present.
- Set your preferred theme (there are 10 new themes).
